From W/C 10th July 2017
After much thought we have concluded that, regretfully, we will have to discontinue our extended hours clinics.
These are a non-contractual optional service introduced by the last Labour Government for which we receive no additional funding. With the national shortage of GPs we have been unable to fully replace Dr Wilford’s clinics following his retirement last year. We are all working harder to cover the necessary workload arising during contracted hours, but have concerns about the consequent safety of care. We know that the clinics are much appreciated by a few patients but they have a high non-attendance rate and we feel for the safety of our patients our efforts need to be focused on providing a good quality and safe service for which we are contracted to provide.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
