Text Messaging Service

We have a new NHS text messaging service which allows the Practice to send out appointment and other reminders and gives you an option to cancel by reply.

Please inform the Practice if you change your mobile number so that we can ensure our records are kept up to date. If not, the Practice cannot be held responsible for messages sent to or received by the wrong person.

The Mote Medical practice is a six doctor, 11,200 patient practice in the south of Maidstone providing General Medical Services from its main premises at St Saviours Road.  Services are also provided from our Branch Surgery in Boughton Lane.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

In order to provide a full range of services registered patients may need to attend either premises, particularly for urgent care (on-the-day bookings).

Advice to travellers returning from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

If you have travelled back from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand in the last 14 DAYS and feel unwell, experiencing a cough or fever or shortness of breath, please remain indoors and call NHS 111 for advice, even if symptoms are mild.

If you have been in contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus please call NHS 111 for advice. 

Do not go straight to a doctor's surgery or hospital.

Advice to travellers returning from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Iran and Northern Italy

If you have returned from these areas since February 19th and developed systems, however mild, you should remain indoors, avoid contact with other people and call NHS 111 for advice.

You do not need to follow this advice if you have no symptoms.

Retirement Announcement:

We are sorry to announce that Dr Stephen Meech, who has worked within the practice for the last 32 years, will be retiring on 31st March 2020.  

We are very sad to see him leave, but we are sure you will join us in wishing him all the best for the future.

We are currently working on a replacement strategy and will write to all of Dr Meech’s patients once we have more details of who will be your named accountable doctor once Dr Meech leaves.

‘Smear Drop in Session’

You can either pre-book an appointment or drop in to our MAIN surgery at St Saviours Road between 8.45am – 12.45pm on 15th April 2020.

There is going to be limited availability on the day so it will be on a first-come first-served basis.

Our Online Services:

We offer an online service for our patients so you can book your appointments and order your repeat prescriptions online at your convenience.

Online appointment booking - Have the flexibility to book and cancel your appointments from home, at work or any location with internet access. You don’t need to queue at the practice, wait on the telephone and you can manage your appointments outside practice opening hours.

Request your repeat prescriptions online - Request your repeat prescriptions quickly online by logging into your account and simply ticking the appropriate boxes. You can review the progress of your repeat prescriptions and any message that the practice may have sent to you.

Access to records - View a summary from your records relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions online, see “It’s your choice” leaflet for more details.

The practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records from 31st March 2016.  This date is subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being available to the practice.

In order to register and use this facility you will need to complete the registration form below and take it to the surgery along with a valid form of identification, for example photo ID or your passport.Once you have registered the practice will give you the information and a ‘token’ that will enable you to create a username and password.
